2021 - Post 4 of 52

Hi Friends,

A true friend is one who tells you the truth at the risk of relationship - an unreliable friend is one who tells you anything they think you want to hear for the reward of relationship - the ultimate friend is Jesus who assumes the risk and rewards relationship when we choose to appropriate the truth.

  • Jesus is the truth (John 14:6)
  • Jesus is the friend who sticks closer than a brother (John 15:13)
  • You are Jesus' friend if you do what He commands you to do (John 15:14)

Be careful who you listen to and trust - many in the world camoflague hidden agendas as deceitful enemies of the truth - Jesus speaks publicly and plainly and says, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:31-33).

My hope in 2021 is that all members of Connections Christian Church will commit at least one verse of Scripture to memory per week (a total of 52 verses in 2021). I will post the weekly verse on this blog as well as with my Daily Word Emails. This week's Scripture is Proverbs 18:24 (please see above).

Please send me an email at jeff@connectionscc.org if you would like to be added to the list of people who receive my Daily Word Emails (Daily Bible Readings and Reflections, along with Weekly Memory Verse; and Daily Prayer and Ministry Updates for the church).

God's Peace and my Prayers,

Jeff

  1. Jesus said "My yoke is easy, My burden is light". He isn't promising an easy road, but rather a good road, with Heaven at the end, as long as we stay faithful. And the connection problem isn't on His end - He's standing at the door, knocking.

    In Him, Steve
